Shanikwa Lemon-Watson is the Executive Director of the Paterson Alliance, where she leads the organization’s mission to unite and empower nonprofits and community partners across the greater Paterson region. Having been part of the Alliance since 2022, Shanikwa brings deep institutional knowledge, strong community relationships, and a clear vision for collective impact.

Shanikwa joined the Paterson Alliance because she believes collaboration is the key to sustainable change. She is passionate about creating spaces where nonprofit leaders feel supported, informed, and connected, and where community-driven solutions can take root and grow. In her role, she focuses on strengthening partnerships, advancing advocacy efforts, and ensuring members have the tools and resources they need to thrive.

With a background in early childhood education and community organizing, Shanikwa leads with intention, equity, and care. She is deeply committed to Paterson and to building systems that reflect the strength, resilience, and brilliance of its people.
